Conference: Finansielle ungdomskulturer på tværs af gaming, gambling og investering
Anne Mette Thorhauge, Jacob Ørmen and Andreas Lindegaard Gregersen from the Center for Tracking and Society and the Department of Communication will hold a conference titled “Finansielle ungdomskulturer på tværs af gaming, gambling og investering” on 22 November 2024.
Money and finance are part of children's and young people’s online lives, often going unnoticed. Current research indicates that nearly half of the children and young people who game have spent money on virtual currencies, and about a quarter have spent money on so-called loot boxes. The same study shows that scams are a daily occurrence for many children and young people; in fact, nearly half of boys aged 14 to 21 have experienced being scammed, and one in ten has been invited into dubious financial networks.
At the conference, authorities and organizations will discuss the problem and future solutions. Among others, the Minister of Taxation, Rasmus Stoklund (S), will give a presentation on the topic: What are the government’s ambitions in this area, both nationally and internationally?
The conference will be held in Danish.
